DD Flynn
Bass
5'8" blonde hair green eyes
born in San Francisco
DD started out playing an upright bass because her older brother did...the "sibling rivalry" thing. She decided she would beat him (never mind that DD had to stand on a stool to play). It took three years (sixth grade) and she won first chair. He promptly quit. She didn't.
DD won a lot of awards and stayed first chair.
Then she heard jazz. Cool, she thought, she could play a bass guitar! The first day the instructor yells, "play 24 bars of blues!" DD was petrified...she only knew how to play if it was written down on manuscript...how do you just play?
DD later won a scholarship to college...staying in first chair. She studied sound engineering at the Dallas Sound Lab and finished her B.A. in Communications with a minor in Music.
Then Ms. Flynn met a bunch of girls who wanted to play rock. So she shaved her head into a mohawk and went on tour with Debutante to South Korea (with now BJH guitarist Dren and others). She had the best time, if you exclude the "pepper-gas incident" and possibly the snake-lady...and maybe even the "dried eel episode..."
Things She's Not Afraid To Admit: She's never been to a tractor-pull. She has been Director of Photography on many commercials and films. She hates contemporary Christian music. She plays upright bass too. She was fired from her very first job as a waitress while in high school the first day (long story...). She's a bit of a smart aleck. She plays a Steinberger and a Philip Kubicki Factor Bass through a Trace Elliot rig. She sunburns easily.
